Our most recent fundraising initiative, PROJECT COMFORT EXCELLENCE, addresses these seniors’ issues as well as the shortfall in government funding. The program focuses solely on the renewal, replacement, and upgrading of vital resources and equipment, key components that go towards providing the comfort our residents so clearly deserve.
For many seniors, the ageing process means an overall deterioration of physical health as well as reduced mobility (usually from arthritis), causing difficulty and discomfort when moving into and from seating, and getting into bed.
Donations would help us achieve our goal of renewal and replacement of vital resources. More specifically, the funds would go towards the purchase and replacement of residents’ existing beds with new, state-of-the-art beds (and pressure relief/reduction mattresses). Each new bed and mattress costs approximately $2,000 each, and with 160 long term care residents currently living at Union Villa.
