Brian Pollard

Board Member

Brian Pollard was appointed to the UHS Board in June 2025.

For over two decades Brian has provided strategic and operational leadership in increasingly senior roles in complex business environments, including the Government of Ontario, hospital administration, governmental policy advocacy and consulting. He has led and advised on some of the most challenging issues, including transforming the healthcare and long-term care systems to be sustainable and of higher quality.

Currently, Brian is on the senior leadership team at Lakeridge Health serving as a Health System Executive, Clinical where he oversees a clinical portfolio of post-acute and community services. Prior to joining Lakeridge Health, Brian served as Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Long Term Care Capital Development Division, Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) where he was responsible for implementing the largest development program in recent provincial history and was responsible for the commencement of thousands of beds. Previous to this role, Brian held other ADM roles in the MLTC as well as ADM and Director roles in the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care with responsibilities for regulating, funding and setting policy for the long-term care sector and transforming the funding approaches for the hospital and long-term care capital sectors. Prior to this Brian held executive (Ontario Long Term Care Association) and clinical program administration roles (University Health Network and Lakeridge Health). He started his career at ICF in Washington, DC.

Brian holds a MBA (Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario), a Masters in Engineering Management (The George Washington University, Washington, DC ) and a B.Sc. Chemical Engineering (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York).
